GLASS
RECYCLING

Highlander can offer a wide range of glass recycling services to industries across Scotland who generate large volumes of glass waste as part of their normal operations.

GETTING RID OF GLASS WASTE

Generally targeted at the drinks and bottling industries, we have a variety of collection and processing methods, to suit the needs of any and all glass waste producers – we collect redundant glasses, tumblers, bottles and other glass products on the pallet and return these to the Highlander Recycling Centre, for de-packing and in the process, we destroy and recycle 100% of the materials received. From the pallet the glass product is on, the polythene covers, cardboard or plastic layer pads and of course the glass waste itself, every single kilo is recycled meaning you can be 100% confident that the glass waste materials you entrust to Highlander, are managed and processed, in the most environmentally responsible way possible, at all times.

Let Highlander take the stress out of glass recycling! If you want us to collect the pallets of redundant products for you, we have a fleet of 8 curtain side vehicles on the road, who can get to your facility within 24 hours of your request! No Forklift? No problem! We even operate 2 x Moffett Mounty vehicles with rear mounted forklifts, that allow us to do all the handling and heavy lifting of the pallets of glass for you – these vehicles can load up to 28 pallets of glass for you in one visit and will take care of the entire loading and pallet removal process, allowing you to get on with running your business!

For larger, bulk glass waste disposal, we also operate 45-foot articulated trailers with carrying capability of up to 56 pallets and up to 28 tons of glass waste, in one visit. With the best response times in the recycling industry, you can be assured that your bulk commercial glass recycling requirements are easily covered by Highlander.

If you prefer to de-pack your own glass products internally or have ongoing rejected bottles from your bottling line operations, we can help here too! Highlander can provide bespoke internal and external containers for glass recycling, suitable for use at all stages of your de-packing or bottling processes. From 120 - 1100 litre wheeled bins, liquid retentive 550 litre plastic tubs, 14 – 30-yard open containers and many other glass handling and containment systems, Highlander is the natural choice for your glass recycling operations.

Sustainable, Eco-friendly recycling solutions

Once collected from your site, all glass waste is taken to a Highlander partner glass recycling centre in central Scotland, where it is processed into a wide range of new glass products such as bottles, jars and glasses. The sustainability of this process, where all your glass waste is collected and recycled within central Scotland, is truly unrivalled in the marketplace and, when married with our keen commercial terms for both collection and disposal of these materials, this makes Highlander the natural choice for your commercial glass recycling requirements!
