“Finn goes for gold with the help of Highlander!”
Finn Harrod, a finance & economics student at the University of Strathclyde, and an amateur cyclist, has recently received vital sponsorship from Highlander International Recycling. Finn competes in numerous cycling competitions throughout the year, including the recent Glasgow Sprint GP last week, and the up and coming Scottish National Championships next month in which he is currently training, and preparing for.
With the sponsorship from Highlander Finn was able to undergo a full aerodynamic bike fitting at Drag2Zero Headquarters in Milton Keynes, the leading company for cycling aerodynamics in the UK. This fitting is very complex, and took around 3 hours to complete, including a biomechanics fitting to make sure he could sustain the body positions for the duration of the race.
Bike fittings are ideally completed every 6 months, and not just when a new bike is purchased as growth, and any change in weight etc. affects this. Aerodynamic fittings are a vital part of the success of the cyclist as this has a big impact on their speed, and the help from the Highlander sponsorship has allowed Finn to be fitted as best he can be to his existing bike, by the best in the industry!
Highlander would like congratulate Finn on his recent top 10 placing, and new personal best he achieved in the Individual Pursuit at the Glasgow Sprint GP earlier this month. He not only positioned better on the bike but he felt a real difference in his speed following the bike fitting. This is a phenomenal achievement after a tough year of getting back into training after 10 months out due to injuries last year.
We would also like to take this opportunity to wish Finn all the best in the Scottish National Championships where he will be competing in the Individual pursuit, and possibly the Points race too where he hopes to bring home a medal for all his hard work and dedication.
