Euan Walker – a student at the University of the West of Scotland and part-time employee at Highlander, recently decided to make a big change and challenged himself to take part in something worthwhile and worth remembering!
In June 2017 he will be travelling over to Ecuador – along with 10 other students from his University – to take part in something quite amazing….
Euan and friends will be travelling to Ecuador for two weeks during which time they will be assisting a local village by helping in construction work and aiding the children of the village by providing education. When Highlander heard about the trip we were delighted to help, with the company making a significant donation to Euan’s travel costs and even the Highlander staff got in the act by having a whip-round for Euan and raising £120 on their own!
The money donated will finance the trip itself including flights, accommodation, internal transport and much more. As of 2nd May Euan is only £35 short of his £1000 goal so if anyone would like to make a donation to push this up to the target they can do so here: https://www.gofundme.com/an-my-volunteer-trip-to-ecuador
I am sure you will wish Euan the best of luck with his travels and we are pleased to say Euan has promised us detailed account, pictures and video footage of his adventures which we will share with you all in another blog post after the trip is over and he is back home safe!
Pictured is our own Brian Bingham presenting Euan with a cheque for the company’s donation raised by the Highlander Clan after their collection!
