Highlander in Tram-endous new recycling initiative!

Highlander have recently commenced a recycling initiative with the Edinburgh tram central plaza, which will see a variety of paper and plastics recycled both from the trains themselves and from the back-office operations at the facility. After an audit of the waste streams, it was proposed that a brand new 30 yard closed container would be ideal for the plaza to recycle unwanted newspapers, flat-packed cardboard, office papers and bagged polythene materials – the container was delivered on Tuesday 18th September and it is estimated that we will divert about 50 tons of materials from landfill to recycling, every year!

The staff at the Tram plaza were delighted with their brand new container which was only sign written minutes before it was uplifted for delivery to this prestigious customer and we look forward to working in partnership with Edinburgh Trams long into the future!
