Sunday 21 May 2017 will be a day of pain but also gain, for the Highlander ladies who have admirably entered themselves into this year’s Race for Life being held in Glasgow, with all funds raised going to Cancer Research UK.
The race itself will have thousands of participants with one common goal – to help beat cancer! With a relatively early start for a Sunday morning of 9.30am, the Clan will have to keep their Saturday night festivities in check that weekend (or at least postpone them to the Sunday evening!) in order to get the 5K done in good time! This challenging Glasgow course starts on the Saltmarket, heading along Trongate to proceed past the iconic George Square before reaching the bustling City Centre of Glasgow’s style mile and then onto Clydeside. The route offers participants the opportunity to take in some of Glasgow’s beautiful architecture and scenery whilst soaking up the amazing atmosphere. The event offers a unique and memorable experience of the city on a Sunday morning, while promoting good health for the participants and of course, helping Cancer Research UK in their fight to beat cancer. Friends, family and some of the male Clan members will be there on the day to support the Highlander ladies in this worthwhile endeavour and we are certain it will prove to be a resounding success for all!
