Highlander has recently achieved another important certification to the company’s repertoire, EN15713 covers information destruction services and after a rigorous audit this was achieved on the 1st December 2015.
The standard includes various parameters for operating a secure and professional shredding service. Secure premises with dedicated destruction and storage areas, full CCTV systems with remote monitoring services, vetted staff and comprehensive “deeds of confidentiality.” As well as secure collection vehicles with alarms, immobilisers and tracking system. It also provides a full audit trail system for all materials collected for destruction and shred sizes in line with DIN security requirements.
The achievement of this standard required contribution from all employees and considerable investment from the company of over £50,000. This will allow Highlander to enter into the security shredding market from 1st January 2016, which we will provide more details on shortly.
Stephen Duffy commented: “This is another milestone for the company which can genuinely be attributed to the contributions of all staff, EN15713 is a basic requirement for companies offering security shredding services and we will be adding to this by being further audited by the United Kingdom Security Shredding Association (UKSSA) later on in the month, prior to being approved as full members. Both accreditations will give all users of our service absolute peace of mind that their confidential waste will be destroyed securely and professionally.”
