After weeks of intrigue and suspense following a detailed application submission and a rigorous interview process by a panel of esteemed judges, the Lanarkshire business awards for 2016 was held at the Radstone hotel on Friday 4th March, where Highlander was nominated for 2 awards being “Best small business (50 employees or less)” and “Best family business”. We are pleased to announce that Highlander are officially named as the best small business in Lanarkshire for 2016!
The awards were presented by Kay Adams and after a fine meal, comedy act by Des Clarke and of course some light refreshments, the awards were presented and the anticipation was over when Highlander were officially awarded this prestigious accolade. Highlander were also short-listed for “Best family business” however this was won by Bells food group, who in fairness do make some very tasty products!
Highlander Director Stephen Duffy commented: “Naturally we are absolutely thrilled to have firstly been nominated for 2 awards categories but to actually win “Best small business” is a testament to the hard work of all the staff members at our HQ in East Kilbride. We have big plans for 2016 such as increasing our security shredding volumes and having the accolade of being best small business will definitely help us in this endeavour!”
