Highlander International are pleased to introduce our new bag collection services for both office paper recycling and document destruction requirements. These exciting new services were introduced in response to recent market and legislative changes related to the industry.
The office paper recycling scheme has been launched in response to the Zero waste regulations which place obligations on producers of waste – specifically waste for recycling – so as to ensure materials such as paper, plastics and cans can be recycled to a high quality. The main stipulations of the regulations, which kicked in from the 1st January 2014, are that businesses need to present metal, plastic, glass, paper and card for separate collection from 1 January 2014.
We as the recycling contractor then need to provide a reliable collection and treatment service which delivers high quality recycling – it has been proven that source separation of all materials produces the best quality and as paper is generated in significant volumes within offices, we felt it prudent to introduce a paper-only recycling service for offices. Highlander would supply bags in rolls of 10 and the bags are manufactured with high gauge clear polythene and are clearly printed with our 3 mountains logo. They are also clearly marked with our unique service brand “Eco office paper recycling” which allows the bags to be easily distinguished from our document destruction bags, which are marked with a completely different branding. The features of the service are as below:
– Bags sold in rolls of a minimum of 10 for a set, all inclusive recycling charge
– Collections performed free of charge as part of the costs of supplying the bags
– Service supplied to companies within a 15 mile radius of East Kilbride
– All material is fully recycled at our modern facility in East Kilbride
– All material is then sold to paper mills exclusively operating within the UK
– All recycling is done under the full guise of CCTV monitoring systems
– Annual recycling certificates are issued illustrating your recycling achievements
– Customers are welcome to come and see their material being recycled at our facility
Further information on the zero waste regulations can be found on the web-site of SEPA (Scottish Environmental Protection Agency) which can be accessed via the below web-link:
Our new document destruction service has been introduced to the market in response to the high costs associated with the ongoing high cost of shredding services already available on the market. Highlander aim to provide a low-cost alternative service while maintaining a high level of security, reliability and diligence. The service includes the provision of ultra-strong, one use white polythene sacks and numbered seals to ensure the integrity and security of the material during collection and transit. Upon arrival at our facility in East Kilbride, all bags are tipped in our secure area awaiting destruction, using our high-volume industrial shredder which is capable of shredding 7 tons of paper per hour – the largest shredding capacity in Scotland!
