Highlander Investment – New shredding capability

Highlander already operates the largest Hammermill shredder in Scotland capable of processing up to 7 tons per hour of documents for destruction. We have now also added a new shredder system to our machinery portfolio, in order to offer a different type of service to shredding customers who require their material to be destroyed by a smaller shred size.

While the Hammermill is widely accepted and utilised by the majority of Highlander customers, an opportunity was identified to provide a “one stop shop” shredding solution for organisations and this smaller cut shredder will allow us to meet the requirements of both DIN 1 and DIN2 shredding security levels.

Highlander director Stephen Duffy noted: “Our business has grown in recent years through a combination of hard work, fantastic customer service and smart investments and we believe this shredder will be another valuable asset on our portfolio – with this and our famous Hammermill shredder, we easily have the largest shredding capacity in Scotland now and are looking to grow this side of the business to fill our capacity.
